Apple Announces visionOS 2 with Enhanced Features and Global Expansion for Vision Pro

 


Apple unveiled visionOS 2 today, introducing several new features and enhancements. Here are the main updates:

- SharePlay in Photos: Users can now enjoy shared photo viewing experiences with friends and family directly within the Photos app.

- Enhanced Mac Virtual Display: An ultra-wide, higher-resolution version of the Mac Virtual Display will be available later this year, offering an improved virtual workspace.

- Improved Gestures: New gestures will make accessing the Control Center and performing other actions easier, enhancing overall usability.

- Expanded Travel Mode: Previously limited to airplanes, Travel Mode will now also support trains, making it more versatile for travelers.

- Mouse Support: VisionOS 2 introduces mouse support, enabling more precise navigation and interaction within the operating system.

- Developer Tools: Numerous new frameworks and APIs will be available for Vision Pro app developers, encouraging the creation of more advanced applications.

Additionally, Apple announced that the Vision Pro will be launching in eight new countries over the next month, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the UK, China, Japan, and Singapore.

These updates aim to enhance the functionality and user experience of visionOS and the Vision Pro headset, broadening their capabilities and reach.
